Two minor boys drowned in a pond at Moidanhata village under Shibganj upazila of the district on Thursday morning.
The deceased are identified as Shovon, 6, son of Maher Ali, and Nahid, 6, son of Moinul, residents of the same area.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shibganj Model Police Station Sahid Mahamud Khan said Shovon and Nahid fell into the pond while they were playing beside the water body at about 11 am.
Later, family members recovered the bodies from the pond.
