Two matches of the National Women’s Hockey competition were decided on the opening day at Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium in the city on Tuesday.
In the day’s first match of the fixture, Barisal Division split point with Rajshahi Division when their match ended in a goalless draw.
In the day’s other match, Khulna Division banked Mymensingh Division by 4-0 goals with Sadia Begum and Kimi scoring twice each for the winning side.
Seven divisions, split into two groups – with Group A featuring Khulna, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Barisal and Group B featuring Dhaka, Chittagong and Rangpur – are taking part in the week-long competition.
The group champions and runners-up teams will advance to the semifinals while the final and the third-place deciding matches are slated on October 1.
