Two madrasha students missing in Habiganj

After the sensational murder of the four ill-fated infants at Bahubal, two madrasa students reportedly have gone missing in Habiganj Sadar upazila.
Police are yet to trace their whereabouts after filing of two separate general diaries with the Kotwali Sadar Police Station. Family members are worried about their children’s rescue alive. Some of them apprehend another Bahubal tragedy.
The victims have been identified as Saifur Rahman Ananda, 16, son of Zamir Ali, and is a student of Sultanashi Hafizia Madrasha in Sadar upazila, and Tayen Mia, 13, son of Kashem Mia, inhabitant of Rajnagar Yatimkhana area and is a student of Shaystaganj Fardakhola Anwar Madina Madrasha, police said.
Quoting the victims’ family members, Nizam Uddin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station told The New Nation on Sunday afternoon, ” Ananda had gone missing from Charmua area of the upazila on February 16. The missing Anada’s father Zamir Ali filed a GD with the PS as the miscreants demanded ransom of Tk five lakh from him from an unknown mobile phone number.”
Following the GD, a team of police technically paid the money through a bKash agent in local Keshorpur Bazar area according to the ‘abductors’ and arrested a man in this connection. But police failed to gather any information from detained Alauddin, 22.
A local court sent Alauddin to the jail after police produced him in the court, the police official said.
On the other hand, Tayen Mia went missing, while he was going to his Madrasha at Rajnagar of the district town on Saturday afternoon.
His uncle Masud Ahmed filed a general diary with the police station in this connection on Saturday night.
“We are trying to rescue the missing boys,” the OC said.
Earlier, four children who went missing on February 12 at Habiganj’s Bahubal were found dead on February 17.
The boys were Jakaria Ahmed Shuvo, 8, son of Md Wahid Miah, Tajel Miah, 10, son of Abdul Aziz, Monir Miah, 7, son of Abdal Miah and Ismail Hossain, son of Abdul Kader.
