Two lighter vessels capsized in the Bay on Monday because of stormy wind and rough sea. The lighter vessels-Olympic-2 and Haji Kayes-carrying cement clinker capsized in the Bay around 1pm on their way to Naraynaganj because of bad weather.However, all the crew members of the two vessels were rescued soon after the capsize, said sources at Chittagong Port Authority.
Apart from this, two other vessels — Mercantile 26 and Blue View – also remained stranded in the River Karnaphuli due to the rough weather, the sources added.
