State Minister for Land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Jabed in a surprise visit to a Chittagong land office yesterday temporarily suspended two land officers and issued order to transfer a peon for involvement with irregularities and corruption.
The state minister also passed an order to arrest two persons including a former Chhatra League leader for digging pond on the land of Land Ministry beside the land office.
Later, the state minister also visited the embankment of Karnaphuli river and ordered to close Marine Pacific Brick Field, set up illegally at Karnaphuli area and arrests its manager.
