Two persons were killed and five others injured when a microbus rammed a truck on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi district on Friday.
The deceased were identified as microbus supervisor Abdul Malek, 45, and passenger Alauddin, 20.
The injured passengers were Masud Hossain, 45, Sumon, 35, Ataur Rahman, 40, his wife Rahima, 34, and daughter Samia, 9, police said.
They have been admitted to Narsingdi General Hospital and different
clinics of the district for treatment.
The accident took place at Gangpar of the district when a Sylhet bound microbus from Dhaka carrying seven people dashed a stationary truck from behind, killing the two on the spot and injuring five others, said Sub-Inspector Arjun Chandra Biswas of Itakhola Highway Police Camp.
The microbus driver, however, managed to flee the scene, the SI added.
