Two people were killed in two separate places at Nawapara industrial town and Chaugachha on Wednesday night and Thursday noon.
Anisur Rahman, officer in-charge, Abhaynagar police station told that police recovered the body of Abdur Rahman, 58, a grocer at Buinkara under Nawapara industrial town at around 8:30pm on Wednesday. ‘He was beaten to death by unidentified miscreants,’ he added.
A case was lodged with Abhaynagar police station in this connection. But none was arrested.
In another incident, Chaugachha police recovered the body of construction worker Hossain Ali, 50 from a jungle at Karaitala under Chaugachha upazila on Thursday noon. His hands and legs were fastened with ropes.
Hasina Begum, wife of the victim told newsmen that her husband went missing since Wednesday evening after leaving his residence for an Islamic Mahfil.
Rafiqul Islam, chairman, Chaugachha union council told that the dead was not involved in any political party. ‘He was absolutely a good man’, he added.
M Moshiur Rahman, officer in -charge, Chaugachha police station told that the body bore marks of torture.
None was arrested and no case was lodged in this regard, the OC added
