Two persons including a house wife were killed by lightning during thunder shower on Wednesday afternoon in Chapainawabganj Sadar and Shibganj upazilas.
The deceased are Abdul Khaleq, 40, son of Amjad Ali of Khaleqpur (Suknapara) under Charbagdanga union in Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila and Bulon Begum, 60, wife of Nazir Hossain of Telkupi village under Shahbajpur union of Shibganj upazila in the district.
Police and local sources said, they were struck by lightning as they were picking mangoes in orchards during thunder shower and storm at around 1-15 pm. They died on the spot. While contacted OC of Sadar thana Mazharul Islam and OC of Shibganj thana MM Moinul Islam confirmed the deaths.
