M A Dud, Joint Convener of Fakikrhat Uapzila Jubo League and son of one late Daliluddin of village Maskata under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat was killed on the spot when his motor cycle collided head on with a speeding truck laden with sands on Mawa-Khulna Highway near at Ghonapara square in Gopalganj district on Friday after noon.
It is learnt, on the day the deceased Jubo League leader went to Gopalganj along with his son by a motor cycle in connection with the admission of his son to Gopalganj Bangabandhu University and while they were returning home in the after noon by the motor cycle and reached the place of occurrence the accident took place. Being informed of the matter a number of Upazila Awami League and its front organizations rushed to the spot.
Another report states that Al-haj Abu Bakr Siddique (45), owner of Jamjam garments shop of Fakirhat Upazila bazar and son of one Al-haj Motiur Rahman of village Pagla-Deara under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerha district was killed on the spot and his wife Hawa Begum (35) was fatally injured on Mawa-Khulna Highway near at Kathal turn under the same Upazila on Friday after noon. Eye-witnesses said , when the deceased and his wife were going from his village residence to the village Kathaal by a motor cycle and when they reached the place of occurrence their motor cycle was suddenly dashed violently from its behind by a passenger coach of Rohan Paribahan and the mishap took place. Being informed of the matter, local people, OC of Katakhali Highway PS, a fire service unit of Fakirhat and Chairman of the concerned Union Parishad rushed to the spot.
