Two persons including a freedom fighter and his neighbour sustained severe cut injuries on their persons when a gang of armed miscreants stabbed them in the house of the freedom fighter in the village Khardar in Bagerhat district town on Sunday.
The injured persons are freedom fighter Mollik Abu Bakar Siddique alias Abu Mallik (67) and Sohrab Fakikr (48). The village home of Abu Mallik is in the village P C Dema within Dema Union Parishad under Sadar Upazila in Bagerhat district. The injured persons were recovered from there and admitted to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital. But considering the precarious condition of freedom fighter Abu Mallik he was shifted from there to Khulna Medical College Hospital for better treatment. Police visited the place of occurrence and recovered a used big sharp knife, locally known as ‘Hasua’ from there. But police could not arrest anybody involved in the incident till the writing of this report. Police primarily guessed, the attack was, perhaps, done by the miscreants out of previous enmity with the freedom fighter.
