Two teams of Government Railway Police (GRP) and Customs Intelligence in separate drives arrested two passengers along with 12 gold bars and a large cache of foreign medicines at Kamlapur Railway Station and Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) respectively on Wednesday, police and customs officials said.

(OC) Abdul Mazid said that a GRP team conducted a drive in the station premises following a secret information and intercepted a passenger of Subarna Express train around 3:30pm. They searched his body and found 12 gold bars worth Tk 73 lakh in his possession.
The passenger has been identified as Mohammad Jahangir, 27, the OC said. A case has been filed with the police station in this connection.
On the other hand, Dhaka Customs Senior Assistant Commissioner (preventive) Ruhul Amin said that a customs intelligence team conducted a drive at HSIA around 9:30am and arrested a woman along with large cache of foreign medicines worth Tk 12 lakh from her possession. She arrived from New York, USA.
The arrested woman has been identified as Nasrin Sultana, 40, the customs official said.
