Police arrested a ward councillor and a former mayor of Bandarban municipality early Wednesday on charge of making derogatory comments about Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the social networking site facebook.
The arrestees were identified as Mizanur Rahman Biplab, a former mayor of Bandarban municipality and Habibur Rahman Khokon, councillor of ward-8.
A police team arrested Mizanur Rahman from in front of District Judges Court around 3:30 am.
