Two persons including a farmer were hacked to death in separate incidents in the country on Wednesday.
In Dhaka (Keraniganj)- a worker of a cloth store was stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants at Patkajore in Dhaka’s Keraniganj early Wednesday.
The deceased Jakir Hossain Rubel, 42, from Kalkini upazila of Madaripur district, was an employee of a cloth store at Alam Market in the city.
Sarwar Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Keraniganj Model Police Station confirmed the news
to media that a gang of miscreants stormed the second floor flat of a house, owned by Wahidul Islam Mia, and stabbed Jakir Hossain indiscriminately around 1:30am, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police went to the spot and recovered the body.The body with several stab injury marks was sent to Mitford Hospital morgue, said the OC.
In Meherpur, a farmer was hacked to death by unknown miscreants in his own garden in Sadar upazila of the district.
The deceased Minarul Islam, 35, son of Khaksar Ali, was a inhabitant of Baliarpur. He worked at a brick-field.
Rabiul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Meherpur Sadar Police Station confirmed the matter to media that Minarul went to see his betel-leaf garden on Tuesday evening. But he did not return home till late night.
Later, his family members found the body in the garden early hours and informed the police.
Being informed, a police team went to the scene and recovered the body bearing injury marks. An inquiry is on to find out the reason behind the death, the OC said.
