Two children died after drowned in a pond at Fullashri village under Bakal Union of Agoiljhara Upazila in Barisal on Saturday morning.
The victims were identified as Poly, 7, daughter of Siraj Molla, Mim, 8, daughter of Shahjahan Talukdar of the village.
Sajjad Hossain, Agoiljhara police station officer- in -charge, visiting the spot said both families residing on same courtyard and during playing the girls fell to the nearby pond without any notice of others.
Family members rescuing them within half an hour brought to upazila health complex and attending doctor declared them as dead.
The dead bodies were handed over to family members after lodging case of unnatural deaths, the OC Agoiljhara PS told.
