Two girls reportedly committed suicide as their parents scolded them for seeing apathy in study at Bagha upazila in Rajshahi on Sunday.
The deceased are- Trisha Khatun, 17, a college student and daughter of Saiful Mondal, of Khoyerhat village and Mukti Akhter, 14, a ninth grader, daughter of Mokbul Hossain of Horipur village in the upazila. Locals said, Trisha allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan of her house on Sunday morning and earlier on Saturday night, Mukti also reportedly committed suicide by taking poison as their parents rebuked them in order to being inattentive in study.
