Noted director and actress Afsana Mimi and actor Abul Kalam Azad have been friends for many years. Their friendship has made them comfortable co-workers in various plays.
However, due to Mimi’s decreased presence on screen, the duo was last seen working together 12 years ago. Now for this upcoming Eid, Mimi and Azad have been cast opposite each other by Chayanika Chowdhury. Titled E Ki Shonar Aloi, the story of the TV play is based on Chayanika’s concept and scripted by Masum Shariar.
While talking about her comeback, Mimi told this correspondent, “I never thought I will work in Eid special ventures. I have worked with Chayanika before and I could not say no to the script she offered, because of the storyline.”
Talking about the play, Mimi also added, “The play delivers a sweet story of a couple. This is why I took over the project and the best part is, my old friend Azad is my co-star.”
Azad Abul Kalam shared his feelings by this way, “I feel very comfortable to work with Mimi. We do not even need to rehearse the lines and working with her after 12 years has made this project very special.”
The duo was last seen in Mimi’s directorial TV play series titled Sharey Tin Tola.
