Police arrested two fraud suspects in Chittagong city’s Raufabad area on Thursday afternoon.
Identifying themselves as representatives of a mobile operator or different NGOs, they were taking fingerprints and national ID numbers of the residents in exchange for vermicelli, noodles and sugar, said Mohammad Mohsin, officer-in-charge of Bayezid Police Station.
They used those in deceiving people, police suspect.
