Two separate fire incidents occurred in the port city on Sunday caused loss of properties of about Tk. 5 lakh.
In fire incident of Nimtala under Bandar thana, 3 shops gutted into ashes . The fire originated from electric short circuit on Sunday 6 pm which guts one grocery shop, one saloon and one tire tube shop, sources added.
Asstt. Director of Agrabad Fire services & Civil Defence MA Malek told this correspondent that sensing the news of fire, 4 mobile fire extinguishing vans rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.
In the fire properties about Tk.2 lakh gutted in the fire.
Meanwhile another fire incident occurred at Jalsa Market infront of New market in city on Sunday evening. Two fire units rushed to the spot from Nandankanan fire station and controlled the fire immediatey. The loss of the fires in Jalsa market yet to be ascertained , fire services sources said.
