Two farmers were electrocuted while connecting their power-driven irrigation pump in village Matialer Dola under Kishoreganj upazila in Nilphamari district on Thursday evening , police sources said.
Bazlur Rashid, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kishoreganj Thana, said the deceased were Abul Hossain, 30, son of Tunnu Mahmud and Nazir Hossain, 28, son of Huzur Ali of the same village under Kalikapur union in the upazila.
Both of the farmers were critically injured after being caught by high voltage electric cables while they were connecting a power-driven irrigation pump there to irrigate their Boro crop field.
