A Dhaka court on Wednesday placed two former leaders of Dhaka University unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on two-day remand each in connection with an arms case.
They are former Deputy Sports Secretary of DU unit BCL and student of IER Hasibur Rahman Tushar, and former Deputy Secretary of the same unit and Islamic History and Culture student Abu Bakar Alif.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Abu Sayeed passed the order after Arifur Rahman, Investigation Officer (IO) and Inspector of Shahbagh Police Station, produced them before the court with
a seven-day remand prayer.
They were arrested with yaba, a pistol and other sharp weapons from Haji Mohamamd Mohsin Hall of the university on Tuesday after they threatened Riaz Farazi, Students Affairs Secretary of the hall unit BCL, putting a gun to his head over hall politics.
