Two persons including a child were electrocuted and another was injured by submerged wire in city’s Badurtola and Halishahar areas amid heavy downpours on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Rabiul Akram, 45 and Raju, 12, and the injured was Roksana Begum, 30. Police said Rabiul died on the spot as he was trying to remove an electric wire in front of his house submerged by rainwater and his wife Roksana was electrocuted when she tried to help her husband at Badurtola area around 10.30 am.
Critically injured Roksana has been admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), said Nayek Mohammad Amir of CMCH police outpost. Meanwhile, Raju was electrocuted while he was playing in the field at Rampura under city’s Halisharar thana around 12 pm. He was sent to CMCH where the attending doctors announced him dead.
