Two persons including a school student were electrocuted in Firingi Bazar area under city’s Kotwali thana yesterday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Istiak Hossain, 14, son of Ismail Hossain, a class nine student of J M Sen High school, of Iqbal Road area and Gopi Nath Datto, 35, son of Mrinal Kanti Datto, of Fringi Bazar.
Police said the victim Istiak was electrocuted as he came in touch with an electric pool that linked with a live electric wire and Gopi Nath was also electrocuted when he went to help Istaik at 2 pm.
They were rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where the attending doctors declared them dead. The bodies were sent to the morgue for autopsy.
