Police arrested two persons were held from Begumpur area of Sadar upazila of Gazipur on Monday night while conducting a special anti-narcotics operation with allied forces.
The arrested are from Daulatpur Police Station of Kushtia Shariful Islam, 42, son of late Nur Mohammad of Kharijathak (Udayanagar) and Manzil Bepari of Atarpara village of Rajshahi Bagha Police Station.
Rakibul Islam, In- charge of Hotapara Outpost informed the matter to Joydebpur Police. It is known that Shariful Islam is rented a house in Sadar upazila Matiful’s 5th floor in Begumpur area. He was selling drugs inside the room.
They were arrested on the basis of such secret information.
Joydebpur Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahatab Uddin said they were arrested along with yabas worth of Tk 8. 26 lakh on the basis of secret information.
They were sent to Gazipur Jail on Tuesday afternoon.
