Two children were drowned in a pond at Nagarsia Berait in city’s Budda area on Saturday noon, police and hospital sources said.
Seven-year old Juthi, daughter of Mohammad Dalim Mia of Berait and 10-year old Meem Akhter, daughter of Habibur Rahman of Khilgaon, drowned in a pond in front of their house as they went for taking bath at 12:30 pm, a relation of the deceased told BSS at Dhaka medical College and Hospital (DMCH) at 2pm.
Soon after the incident they were rushed to DMCH where doctor declared them dead.
A case of unnatural death has been lodged with concerned police station.
