A woman and a child died of dengue while 316 dengue patients were hospitalised across the country in the last 24 hours till Thursday morning.
In Khulna, a woman died of dengue at Khulna Medical College Hospital on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Masura, 25, wife of Habibullah of Abhaynagar Upazila in Jashore.
ShahinBiswas, a physician of KMCH, said Masura was admitted to the hospital on October 7 with dengue fever. “She lost her battle against dengue around 12 pm on Thursday,” he added.
In Chandour, Abdul Kader, 13, son of Amin Gazi of Jamtola road in Chandpur city, died on Thursday while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital with dengue ever.
Chandpur General Hospital medical officer Md Asibul Hasan said Kader was admitted to Sadar Hospital on Wednesday and later
he was referred to DMCH for better treatment.
Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Health Services said a total of 316 dengue patients were hospitalised in the last 24 hours till Thursday morning. Of them, 91 were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka while 225 to different district hospitals. Currently, 1294 dengue patients are being treated in hospitals across the country.
Of them, 452 dengue patients are receiving treatment in the capital while rest 842 are in hospitals outside Dhaka. Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) confirmed the deaths of 93 dengue patients after reviewing 151 reports out of 242. The government said 91,115 people were hospitalised with dengue across the country since the beginning of the year. Of them, 89,579 recovered fully.
