Two people suffering from fever, cold and cough have died in the Isolation unit of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital.
They were around 50, said the hospital Director Dr Uttam Kumar Barua on Thursday, but he did not disclose their identities on social safety.
“Two patients with fever, runny nose and cough died in the Isolation unit of this hospital in last two days,” Uttam Kumar said, adding that samples of the deceased were sent to the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control And Research (IEDCR) for test.
“We received one report which was negative, but did not get the other,” the official also said.
The hospital authorities, however, in association with Anjuman Mufidul Islam, a voluntary organisation providing humanitarian services to the poor, handed over the bodies to their respective relatives.
