Two people died in Bakerganj of Barisal allegedly after taking toxic alcohol on Sunday morning.
On other hand four persons became sick after taking breakfast at a hotel in Bakerganj New Market area on Sunday noon.
The two victims died after drinking toxic alcohol were identified as Nani Gopal Karmakar, 53, of Bandar and Adir Das, 60 of Sahebganj area of Bakerganj municipal area, said Lokman Hossain Dakua, municipal mayor.
Adhir died at the spot and Nani died at Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital on Sunday early morning, he said.
Harun Dakua and Rashid still under treatment at hidden places for sickness after those four became taking by toxic alcohol at bus stand area on Sunday early hours, the municipal mayor told.
On other hand Biplob Gomes, a staff of Caritas local office, said a team of seven Christians after visiting Padrishibpur Church and participating prayer there, returned Bakerganj and became sick after taking breakfast in Sourav Hotel in Bakerganj New Market area on Sunday noon.
