Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) has organised a two-day Internet Trade Fair (ITF) aims to make the capital market investors in home and abroad familiar with the online-based stocks trading.
State minister for finance and planning M A Mannan Wednesday inaugurated the ITF in city’s Institute of Diploma Engineers through buying 100 shares (Imaginary) of AB Bank in online.
Mannan hinted that Financial Reporting Act (FRA) would be passed in the next session of the parliament. “The FRA, if it get nod, would bring transparency in financial statements,” hoped the state minister.
Professor M Khairul Hossain, Chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), said advancement of capital market indicates the status of development of any country. Terming the organising of ITF as optimistic, the BSEC chairman emphasised on ensuring transparency in online trading. “Online trading would help to slash the trade differences between CSE and Dhaka Stock Exchange,”hoped Khairul.
CSE Chairman Abdul Mazid, Managing Director Syed Sazid Hossain and ICB Managing director M Fayekuzzaman, among others, also spoke on the occasion.
In the fair, the investors would be given related training on online trading so that they are encourage to take part in the Internet based transaction.
In addition, the visitors would get the opportunity to avail five prizes everyday of the fair through lottery. The first prize is a smartphone with the package of Robi, followed by Banglalion internet modem, Grameenphone Internet modem, Grameenphone SIM and Robi SIM.
CSE has organised the ITF in association with Grameenphone, Robi, UCB, Lanka-Bangla Finance and AB Bank, where 17 brokerage houses, 3 IT Solution firms, 2 cellular phone operators and 2 internet service providers is taking part.
In the fair, the investors will get details information and demonstration on how they can be able to trade by using devices like smartphone, tab, laptop and desktop computers.
Mobile phone operators, IT companies and brokerage houses will demonstrate their IT-related products that will be helpful for the internet trading. They will also offer Internet devices and internet packages at discount prices at the fair venue.
Besides, Investors will also get benefit of opening beneficiary owners’ account with brokerage houses at the fair venue.
