Two boys drowned in a canal at Nazirpara area of Mirzapur upazila on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Shahadat Zaman, 10, and Sakib Hossain 14.
Main Uddin, officer-in-charge of Mirzapur Police Station, said Sakib came to visit his relative’s house at the village.
Shahadat, Sakib and Sagor Hossain, 12, went to a local canal for a boat journey at noon.
At one stage, they fell down from the boat.
Sagor managed to swim ashore, but Shahadat and Sakid drowned.
On information, a fire fighting team rushed to the spot and rescued them.
Later they were whisked off to Kumudini Medical College Hospital where doctors declared them dead.
