Two dead bodies were recovered by the police at Chandanimahal and Gazirhat areas in Digholia upazila of Khulna district on Saturday. The dead are Selim Howladar, 45 of Chandanimahal area in the upazila and the other is an unidentified woman. Md. Robiul Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) said, Selim was stabbed to death at around 9pm on Saturday following an altercation with Palash Molla, son of Motaleb Molla and alleged lover of the wife of Selim at Chandanimahal area. Critically injured Selim died on the way to Dhaka in order to give him better treatment.
An unidentified beheaded dead body of a woman, 27 was recovered from Padmo beel are under the same upazila at around 6pm on Saturday.
Being informed by the local people, police rushed to the spot, recovered the beheaded dead body along with the head which was around 100 yards away from the body.
The dead woman wore selwar and kamiz and ‘Shnkha’ in her hands, she might be killed by cutting her throat and she might be kept in that place from another, police primarily suspect.
Both the dead bodies were sent to KMCH morgue for autopsies, OC added.
Two cases were lodged with Digholia police station in connection with the incidents.
