The bodies of a child and a youth, who went missing after their speedboat capsized in the Padma River on Thursday night, were recovered on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Amir Hamza, 6, hailed from Kharakandivillage in Shibchar Upazila and Miraj Hossain, 20, an inhabitant of Banaripara Upazila under Barisal district.
Police said the speedboat capsized at Kathalbari Ghat area in the Padma river after a collision with a trolley. With this, the death toll from the Thursday’s boat capsize in the Padma river rose to three.
The minor boy Amir Hamza’s father, mother and brother were also injured in the incident.
They were admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for treatment.
