Mobile court of Patiya Upazila in Chattogram led by Executive Magistrate and Asstt.Commissioner of Land Sabbir Rahman Sani convicted two beef sellers with 6 months imprisonment and the owner of the cow with Tk. 26 thousand for alleged selling of meat of a sick cow after slaughtering at ShantirHat of Patiyaupazila on Sunday afternoon.
Convicted butchers(sellers)identified as Md. Ashgasr and Md. Ismail . On the otherhand owner of the cow Abul Kalam has been fined withTk.26 thousand for slaughtering a sick cow failing to suffer two months jail. Patiya thana ASI Md. Meheraj told that police rounded up these butchers while trying to sell beef of the sick cow in the Santirhat bazar and seized all meat.Later mobile court team stormedin the spot . Upazila Livestockofficer Dr. Md. Rakibul Islam was also present on the spot.
