Two central leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) were injured when a clash began between two factions of the ruling party’s student wing at Madhur Canteen in Dhaka University campus last Tuesday.
The incident took place when both of them wanted to get into the personal car of BCL President at 2pm on Tuesday.
The injured leaders were identified as BCL Vice President Shahriar Kabir Biddut and Touhidul Islam Chowdhury Jahir.
Local sources said that the factional clash between the two BCL vice-presidents began over riding into the personal car of BCL President Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon.
BCL Vice-President Shahriar Kabir Biddut was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) as his eyes got hurt during the clash. Biddut required three stitches on the eye.
When contacted, Shovon said that, during the clash he was not present there. When I got the information of scuffle, I went there to pacify both of them.
However, they had previous enmity, Shovon said.
Both of the BCL leaders are supporters of the President Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon.
