Staff Reporter :Two Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASI) of Police were killed in separate road accidents in Dhaka and Rajshahi cities within a span of 12 hours from Monday night to Tuesday morning.In capital, an ASI was killed in a road accident near the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the capital on Monday night.The deceased was identified as ASI Shafiqul Islam, 29, a member of Special Branch of Police, Airport Zone, Dhaka.The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) morgue on Tuesday morning.The DMCH Police Outpost In-Charge Mozammel Haque said that a metallic substance pierced into Shafiqul’s abdomen when two buses collided there, leaving him dead on the spot. Police seized the buses, he said. In Rajshahi, a policeman was killed in the road accident in front of Court Academy School on Tuesday morning. The deceased was identified as Chanchal Kumar Mandol, 40, an ASI of Special Protection Battalion, Dhaka.Witnesses said, an auto-rickshaw hit the motorcycle of the ASI in the area, where he went to give testimony in a case in a court at about 10:30 am, leaving him seriously injured.Chanchal was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital where attending doctors declared him dead.
