The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday sent its two deputy directors (DD) on forced leave.
As per the directive of President, two ordinances signed by ACC Senior Secretary Mohammad Quamrul Hasan were issued against DDs Mohammad Ahsan Ali and Shafiqul Islam.
When contacted, ACC Chairman M Badiuzzaman said that the government issued a gazette notification stating their forced retirement.
The ACC in its 03/2014 meeting unanimously decided about the duo’s forced leave following complaints against them of vio
lation of its discipline. The ACC also recommended the President about their decision, sources said.
The ordinances say, the officials were sent on forced leave under section No- 9(2) of Mass employees (Retirement) Act-1974. But they can enjoy the retirement facilities.
Sources said, the officials gave statement about the corruption of ACC Director General (Adminis-tration) Mohammad Shahiduzza-man to the media, which tarnished the image of the commission.
First the ACC transferred Ahsan Ali to Kushtia and Rafiqul Islam to Patuakhali districts.
But finally, it has decided to send them forced leave. The high ups of the anti-graft body held meeting at several times in this connection.
