Rapid Action Battaion (RAB) on Saturday rescued two abducted girls from Dulatdia Brothel in Rajbari district, They were allegedly sold by the abductor in exchange of Tk 1,20,000.
The victims’ identities have been kept secret as they were sold in the infamous Daulatdia brothel.
A team of RAB rescued two girls from the brothel in a critical situation, said Md Roice Uddin, In-Charge of Faridpur Camp (CPC-2) of RAB-8.
The elite force members also arrested Liton Sarder, son of Shahabuddin Sarder, from Baparipara villge in Daulatdia upazila, the RAB official said.
They were sold in the brothel at Tk 1,20,000, the additional SP said.
One of the victims filed a case in this connection, he said.
One of the victims, was handed over to a local rehabilitation center as they had not found any relative of her. The other girl was also handed over to her family, the elite force official said.
Meanwhile, a team of police conducted a drive following information and rescued two girls from different houses in in Kajulia village of Gopalganj Sadar upazila in the afternoon, said Md Kamrul Faruq, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotalipara Police Station.
They are Fatem Akter, 13, daughter of Liakat Ali Hossein, inhabitant of Kotalipara, Gopalganj, Sima Islam, 18, daughter of Nur Islam, from Molla Hat of Bagerhat, the police official said.
Police also arrested three abductors. They were identified as Kabir Sheikh, son of Lal Mia Sheikh, Alamin Daria, son of Sohrab Dari, Shaheed Mollah, son of Mujibul Mollah, inhabitants of Gopalganj, the OC said.
Later, they also arrested the Kabir, Alamin and Shahed after tracking their mobile phone numbers, the police officer said.
Two case were filed with police stations in this connection, the OC said.
