Two minor twin sisters drowned in a pond of Mohammadpur village in Laksam upazila on Saturday morning.
The deceased were identified as Mariam, 4, and Fatema, 4, daughters of Liton Mia of the village in Gobindapur union.
Quoting family members, Gobindapur union
parisahd chairman Nizam Uddin Ahmed said Mariam and Fatema drowned in the pond while they were playing nearby their house.
Locals found the twin floating in the pond and recovered their bodies around 11:15 am, he added.
