Turkey’s economy sees serious inflation stress

Turkey’s consumer price index rose 10.68 percent in August year on year, hitting double digits once again after June, the Turkish Statistical Institute announced Tuesday.
On a monthly basis, the main gauge of inflation increased by 0.52 percent compared to July, according to the official data.
On annual comparison, the highest increase was transportation with 17.38 percent, followed by food and non-alcoholic beverages with 11.97 percent, health with 11.66, recreation and culture with 11.19, and hotels and restaurants category with 11.07.
State-run Anadolu Agency has forecasted the inflation at the end of the year at 9.38 percent based on estimation of 14 economists.
Because of sharply currency devolution and structure problem,since 2016.
Turkish Central Bank forecasts the year-end inflation at 8.7 percent.
