The First Female Karate Black Belt of Bangladesh, Shamima Akhtar Tulee has been awarded the 6th dan “1st Mujib Centenary Black-Belt Award-2022” recently in the city. The ceremony was organised by the “Bangladesh Martial Art Confederation”.
Through this award, Tulee has been honoured as Bangladesh Karate’s Highest Dan Ranking woman for her revolutionary contributions to the karate industry, female self-defence, and health awareness as an extraordinary female fitness entrepreneur.
The prestigious award was handed over to Tulee by the chief guest of the program, the State Minister of Youth & Sports of the government’s republic of Bangladesh, and Member of Parliament, Zahid Ahsan Russel.
Shamima Akhtar Tulee, also Bangladesh’s first female international ‘Veteran’ medalist from Las Vegas, USA, is a 5 times consecutive National Champion, and the First and Only Representative of ICM (International Centre of Martial Art) under UNESCO.
Rashed Khan Menon MP, Chief Advisor of Bangladesh Martial Art Confederation presided over the programme, while former minister Sheikh Shahidul Islam was present as the special guest.
The programme was moderated by Hasan-Uz-Zaman Moni, General Secretary, Bangladesh Martial Art Confederation.
