Awami League Presidium Member Mohammad Nasim on Saturday said the mastermind behind the killing of the country’s founding father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and four national leaders should be brought to justice.
He called for forming a commission to try the mastermind behind the killings of Bangabandhu and four national leaders and those who had given shelter to the killers and also prized them giving jobs abroad.
Nasim, also the Health and Family Welfare Minister, was talking to reporters after paying homage by placing a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the former central jail on Nazim Uddin Road in the city.
The 14-party leaders paid respect to Bangabandhu as UNESCO recognized the historic 7th March speech of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as world’s documentary heritage.
Samyabadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua, Communist Kendro Convener Dr Wazedul Islam Khan, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) General Secretary Nazmul Haque Prodhan, Ganatantri Party General Secretary Dr Shahdat Hossain, Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) Convener Rezaur Rashid Khan and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Kamrul Hasan Khan were also present, among others.
Nasim urged all concerned to work unitedly for materializing the dream of Bangabandhu of building a secular, prosperous and happy nation.
