Incumbent United States President Donald Trump has said that he will leave the White House if Joe Biden is officially declared as the President of the United States through Electoral College votes.
He made the remarks in response to a query from reporters on Thursday.
However, Trump again rejected to concede defeat in the 3 November presidential election.
“It was ‘difficult’ to accept,” he said, mentioned allegations of vote-rigging at the time, reports BBC.
Although President Trump and his people have taken a number of legal steps to address vote irregularities, none have been successful. After weeks of uncertainty, Donald Trump finally agreed to hand over power last Tuesday.
Joe Biden has unofficially secured the presidency after receiving 306 electoral college votes, on the other hand, Trump received 232 electoral votes. More than 270 electoral college votes are required to become the president. Besides, Biden received more than 6 million more votes than Trump in the popular vote.
Electoral college members will vote on December 14. If all goes well, Biden will officially take office on January 20.
