Trump has made America lose world leadership and the world unsafe

THE world never seemed as bitterly divided as during the pre- hours leading to the G-20 summit to be held in Germany’s Hamburg today. From the apparent disagreements and disruptions from one president – it also looks the world is going through a serious leadership crisis. The world order is suddenly off the hinges. Though the German Chancellor Angela Merkel has stated, she wants the summit to focus on key international issues such as climate change, free trade and an unfettered press – in short, all the key topics standing dead-against Mr. Trump.

Nevertheless, it is more than surprising, that after all domestic and international disruptions followed by a spree of hate speeches full of rhetorical threats and populist emotions – the 19 members of the G-20 are still optimistic about the summit’s outcome. They seemed to be living in a fool’s paradise.

The point, however, the new US president by now has clearly put divisions by sowing the seed of mistrust and resentment throughout many parts of the globe. Ranging from the Middle East to the shores of the Korean peninsula now seems like almost on the verge of a massive military confrontation. Muslim unity in the Gulf is seriously at stake. Futures of crucially important topics like Climate Change and continental and international trade agreements have become seriously uncertain. It’s all continuing since the majority of world leaders continue to cater to the perilous and whimsical views of one man while ignoring the danger which is fast affecting the global order and peace.

We fear, if the major 19 powers of the world do not unite and stand against the tyrant in today’s G-20 summit, Mr. Trump would aim for even more unwarranted resentment and chaos.

We understand that the selected topics for the summit are important, but even more important would have been – if the leaders could have stopped the new man in the White House from creating further global anarchy. Take for instance what’s happening surrounding the fate of the oil-rich small state of Qatar. It is not only the sad tale of a group of Arab powers standing against one of their neighbour influenced by Trump’s ill-boding of Muslims, but the boycotting of Qatar will likely lead to more regional disruptions.

Moreover, all of a sudden America’s relations with its key allies – many of them are in the G-19 team – are now standing at an all time low. It will not be surprising to see the global leadership to be suddenly replaced by either Germany or China.

If the key players in the summit continue to ignore and avoid the stated ominous realities they will be directly fuelling all the blatant and irrational massively corrupt attempts of a tyrant.

Yes it’s true, in terms of economic strength and military might America tops the world. That supremacy, however, doesn’t give the carte blanche to its president to indulge in global and self-destructive schemes. We call for the world leaders to make the president realise – the world is not the United States of America and the collective strength of the 19 major powers supersedes the total American strength – in all aspects.

American people have to do something about stopping President Trump who has no idea of leadership for the free world. He is not only undermining world leadership role of America, he is contributing to making the world unsafe. Brutal undemocratic forces, even a country like North Korea is defying America and world peace and Trump is sitting alone.
