Trump a threat to press freedom, says CPJ

For the first time in its 35-year history, the board of directors of the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has declared a US presidential candidate a threat to press freedoms, a press statement here said.
Board Chairman Sandra Mims Rowe issued a statement on behalf of the organisation calling out ‘Donald Trump for his virulent anti-media rhetoric and actions.’
“Donald Trump, through his words and actions as a candidate for president of the United States, has consistently betrayed First Amendment values,” Rowe said.
