Dhaka Metro – T 22-5029 abandoned truck full of sal-gazari trees was seized from Haijo area of Rayed Union of Kapasia Upazila of Gazipur late on Tuesday night. Later in the night, the forest department beat officer took the truck full of trees to Gosinga beat office in Sripur range.
It is known that the trees were loaded into a truck in the dark of night in the Drishpur Bazar area of Raid Union’s Haijo for illegal smuggling of shawls. Gosinga Beat Officer of Forest Department, Monirul Islam conducted a raid based on secret information and seized the gazari trees along with the truck.
It is alleged that for a long time, an influential gang in that area has been illegally clearing and smuggling the natural Sal-Gazari forests in the darkness of night without permission, including the forests of the government Khas and Forest Department.
Gosinga beat officer Monirul Islam said, based on secret information, we can find out whom or who are illegally loading trucks to smuggle gazari trees. Later we raided the people and seized the truck with 50 back gajari trees. At that time, a gang identified tried to attack us. Later, I was able to bring the truck full of trees to the Gosinga Beat Office with the help of the police under the guidance of the Upazila Nibarhi Officer. Legal action is pending in this regard.
