Sarishabari ( Jamalpur) :
A man was found dead at Jhingervita village in Sarishabari Upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Abul Kalam Azad, 55, son of late Majom Chawkidar, was resident of the village.
A person, whose identity is still unknown, called Abul Kalam Azad out of his house over cellphone on Monday 9.00 pm and he could not return on the night, Sarishabari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Majedur Rahman quoted the victim’s wife Anwara Begum as saying.
On Tuesday morning, local people found the body of Azad with throat slit in a field near his house and informed police.
The body was recovered and sent to Jamalpur General Hospital morgue for autopsy at around 10.00 am, said the OC. “We are investigating the incident and trying to trace out the criminals involved in the murder,” added the OC.
A case was underway to be filed with the police station as of filing this report at 2.30 am.
