A truck that disappeared with 250 bags paddy from Mollahat in Bagerhat district 2.5 year ago was seized and its owner Chande Ali alias Prokash Chandu, son of one Zinnat Ali of village Kharki under Sadar Upazila in Jessore district was arrested by PIB of Bagerhat on Tuesday early morning.
At that time the truck used in stealing purposes was kept in Jessore police line. In this connection Mobasser Mallik, driver of the truck made a legal statement in the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate, Bagerhat u/s 164.
Manjurul Hasn Masud, IO , Bagerhat Police Investigation Bureau disclosed to the newsmen, Abul Khair Shaikh, owner of the paddy of village Udoypur under Mollahat Upozila in Bagerhat district hired a truck for sending 250 bags paddy to Munshiganj (district). On April 26 in the year 2017 the truck was loaded with the paddy and left Mollahat for Munshiganj. But it flew away with the paddy and no trace of it was found. In this connection Abul Khair, the owner of the paddy lodged a case with Mollahat PS on the following day. Finding no trace of the paddy police submitted a final report to the court on September 30 in the same year. But the plaintiff put an objection to the court against the final report. Then the court directed the PIB to investigate into the matter.
The IO added, after investigating into the matter we at first arrested Sujan, the helper of the truck and according to his statement, we found its (truck) driver Mobasser in Gajipur Jail Hajat in connection with his involvement in some criminal cases. Through the court he was taken to Bagerhat for interrogation and according his statement, we arrested Chande Ali alias Prokash Chandu, the owner of the truck from Jessore on Tuesday morning and seized the truck. It is learnt from them that they were accused in a number of sensational criminal cases. In this connection truck driver Mobasser Mallik gave a legal statement to the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate of Bagerhat u/s 164.
