A car driver was killed and a woman, passenger of the vehicle, injured when a truck collided with the car in Kaliakoir Bypass area on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway on Saturday morning. The deceased was identified as Latif Khan, 30, a resident of Kaukhali village in Mirzapur upazila. Police said the accident occurred at about 8:00 am when a Tangail-bound truck collided with a Dhaka-bound car coming from the opposite direction in the area, leaving the car driver dead on the spot and its passenger injured. The injured was admitted to Kaliakoir upazila health complex. Later, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for an autopsy. A case was filed in this connection.
