Tripura’s CM-elect phones Hasina, seeks coop

Tripura’s Chief Minister-elect Biplab Kumar Deb phoned Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday morning and sought Bangladesh’s cooperation for the development of Tripura.
Biplab Kumar made the phone call before he took oath as the first BJP Chief Minister in the Indian North East state, Tripura, said PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim. In response, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina assured him of Bangladesh’s cooperation. She also recalled the cooperation of the people of Tripura during the 1971 Liberation War. BJP state president Biplab Kumar Deb was elected chief minister of Tripura on Tuesday.
