Tripartite meeting reviews ADB assisted projects

The government and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) today (Wednesday) jointly reviewed ADB-assisted projects in Bangladesh to further improve development results.
Saifuddin Ahmed, Joint Secretary, Economic Relations Division, Ministry of Finance, and Kazuhiko Higuchi, Country Director for ADB’s Bangladesh Resident Mission co-chaired the tripartite portfolio review meeting, held in the capital city, according to an ADB press release.
The meeting discussed the status of ongoing projects, and readiness of the projects in 2016-2017 pipeline, and prioritized actions to achieve targets. Senior government officials, project directors, and ADB staff participated in the meeting.
“The portfolio review is a regular exercise jointly conducted by the Economic Relations Division, project executing agencies and ADB,” said Country Director Kazuhiko Higuchi. “The review intends to help further accelerate project implementation, and achieve better and faster development results.”
ADB is supporting energy and power; transport; water and urban/municipal infrastructure and services; education; finance; and agriculture, natural resources, and rural development.
