Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Monday said late Deputy Speaker of Parliament Advocate Fazle Rabbi Miah was a modest, unassuming and good-natured person.
“Fazle Rabbi’s death created a vacuum in the country’s political arena,” he said while talking to journalists after joining the namaz-e-janaza of Rabbi at National Eidgah ground in the city on Mondaymorning.
Quader said Fazle Rabbi was elected lawmaker for seven consecutive times from the same constituency which reveals how much popular he was, reports BSS.
Rabbi was very obedient to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he said.
Fazle Rabbi Miah, also Parliament Member of Gaibandha-5 constituency, passed away on July 22 (NY time) in New York while undergoing treatment there.
